In Leadership: Texas
Hold 'em Style, card playing, and specifically poker, is used as a
metaphor to examine the art and science of leadership. While you may learn
something about card playing, the book is not about card games. Some
people have strong negative reactions to card playing. On the other hand,
the authors see cards and card playing as a social activity that crosses
economic, social and cultural boundaries. Other games, like chess might be
used in a similar manner, but they probably wouldn't have the wide appeal of
cards (there are 2.2 million references to Chess Playing on the Internet and 126
million to Card Playing).
Leadership: Texas Hold 'em
Style has now added to the 126 million references to Card Playing.
And, inherent in the game is wagering. The authors don't encourage
commercial gaming or gambling but recognize it's wide spread appeal and the
associated problems. We have added to following two links as well as the
special disclaimer. If you, or someone you know, has a gambling problem we
encourage you to visit these sites and take action.
